Man Killed in Early Morning Accident on B1 Highway, Windhoek

A man, believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, died instantly in the early hours of Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle on the B1 highway. The fatal accident occurred at the bridge from Hakahana Service Station to China Town.

Constable Philip Angala of the Windhoek City Police confirmed the incident, stating that the victim was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by an oncoming car.

Police investigations are currently underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the accident. The identity of the deceased has not yet been made public, as his next of kin have not been notified.

Meanwhile, the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund reported that three passengers in the vehicle sustained injuries. Their conditions have not been disclosed.

Constable Angala cautioned both motorists and pedestrians to remain vigilant and to exercise greater care when using the roads to prevent further tragedies.
