A manhunt is underway for six suspects involved in a brazen early morning robbery at the Namcor Service Station in Rand Street, Khomasdal, on Monday.
The incident occurred shortly after 06:00, when a group of armed suspects stormed the premises, targeting the station’s back office. Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga, spokesperson of the Namibian Police, confirmed that the robbers made off with N$48,000 in cash.
“One of the suspects entered the office armed with a knife and confronted the manager. He demanded cash and then physically dragged the manager on the floor before seizing two money boxes hidden beneath the counter,” Kuwinga stated.
The suspects, believed to be a group of six, coordinated the robbery with precision. According to preliminary police findings, three suspects entered the shop while two others held security guards at bay outside. The group fled the scene in a white Toyota Passo. The sixth suspect is believed to have been driving the getaway car.
No arrests have been made and the stolen money has not yet been recovered. Police investigations are ongoing, and members of the public with any information are urged to come forward.
Authorities have described the incident as robbery with aggravating circumstances and have stepped up efforts to track down those responsible.
