Maun police have launched an investigation into a suspected murder following the discovery of a 59-year-old man’s body at Maphane cattlepost on Saturday.
According to the police, the deceased was found in a borehole at his farm in a decomposed state. A pathologist’s examination revealed injuries to the head and chest, raising strong suspicion of foul play.
In a twist to the case, the man’s Toyota Land Cruiser was discovered the same day abandoned in the Thamalakane River. Police reports indicate that he was last seen alive earlier in the week after leaving his mobile phone charging at a neighbor’s home.
Maun police have since appealed to the public for assistance in providing any information that could shed light on the mysterious death.
Investigations are ongoing.
