Mariental Sport Club has strengthened its technical team ahead of the new Southern Stream First Division season by appointing Mervin “Teles” Mbakera as Head Coach for 2025/2026.
Mbakera is one of Namibia’s well-known coaches. He previously coached African Stars, FC Ongos, Tigers FC, and the Namibia Women’s National Team. He also played for Tigers during his football career. His biggest success came when he led African Stars to the Namibia Premier Football League title, losing only one match that season.
Joining him is his trusted assistant coach Jamunovandu Ngatjizeko, who also worked with him at African Stars. The two are known for their strong partnership and winning discipline.
Mariental SC says the decision to bring in Mbakera and Ngatjizeko shows the club’s ambition to fight for promotion to the Premier League. The club believes the experienced coaching team will help build a strong and competitive squad.
The new coaches will now begin preparing the team for the season as Mariental aims for a successful campaign.
