MTC Namibia Warns Against Fake Data Giveaway Post

Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) Namibia has issued a warning to the public regarding a fake social media post circulating online. The fraudulent post claims that MTC is offering 95GB of free data in memory of Namibia’s founding president, Dr. Sam Nujoma, between February 11 and February 18, 2025. However, the company has labeled the information as “FAKE NEWS.”

The misleading post, designed to resemble an official MTC announcement, falsely states that all MTC customers will receive free data as part of a legacy celebration. However, MTC has confirmed that this claim is entirely false and advises customers to disregard it.

In response, MTC has urged the public to verify any promotional offers directly through their official communication channels, including their website and verified social media accounts. They further caution customers against clicking on suspicious links or sharing personal details in response to such fraudulent posts.

MTC remains committed to protecting its customers from misinformation and continues to emphasize the importance of digital awareness in preventing online scams.

For official updates, customers are encouraged to follow MTC Namibia’s verified accounts or visit their website.
