Namibia is set to simplify its visa system to attract long-term investors and visitors, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah announced during the Namibia Public–Private Forum in Windhoek.
The President highlighted that the Ministry of Home Affairs will urgently review and streamline visa application procedures, making it easier for investors and visitors to enter the country. She emphasized that serious investors should be granted five-year visas to encourage sustained economic engagement.
“The visa process must be simple and accessible,” Nandi-Ndaitwah said. “We want investors and visitors to benefit from a special visa programme that supports long-term investment.”
In addition to visa reforms, the President directed improvements at Hosea Kutako International Airport, including the addition of more counters to reduce congestion in arrivals. She also confirmed that the long-delayed Migration Bill is expected to be enacted before the end of the financial year.
These visa and migration measures are part of broader government plans to enhance Namibia’s economic competitiveness and ease of doing business, creating a more attractive environment for investment.
Nandi-Ndaitwah noted that the government’s vision is to make entry, investment, and business operations in Namibia simple, seamless, and efficient, ensuring that investors experience a one-stop, supportive system from arrival to business establishment.
