Namibian beef is gaining greater international recognition after securing a place on the menus of Germany’s renowned Block House steak restaurants.
Starting 20 September 2025, Namibian rump steak will be served as a monthly special across all 42 Block House outlets in Germany. The agreement was facilitated through a partnership between Namibian beef producers, South Trade GmbH, and the Hamburg-based Eugen Block Holding GmbH, which owns both Block House steakhouses and Jim Block burger outlets.
According to the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), this development reflects years of collaboration aimed at ensuring Namibian beef maintains a consistent presence in Europe. The NIPDB played a key role in the negotiations, highlighting Namibia’s reputation as a source of safe, premium-quality, and sustainably produced food products.
“Namibian beef stands out not only for its quality, but also for the values behind it, being free-range, grass-fed, high in animal welfare standards, and sustainably produced,” said Valentin Külbs, Managing Director of South Trade GmbH.
He added that his company was proud to help bring Namibia’s beef to one of Europe’s most respected restaurant groups.
This milestone marks another step forward for Namibia’s agricultural exports, which continue to strengthen the country’s presence in competitive international markets.
