
Law enforcement authorities in Henties Bay carried out a significant drug bust on Thursday, 16 October 2025, resulting in the arrest of a 53-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both Namibian citizens, for alleged drug trafficking.
Chief Inspector Judith Shomongula confirmed that the arrests were made following reliable intelligence regarding the couple’s suspected involvement in dealing illegal substances. “An undercover operation was launched based on the information, leading to the seizure of drugs and the subsequent arrest of the suspects,” she stated.
Police confiscated a substantial quantity of narcotics, including 8,821 grams of cannabis, 1,467 full Mandrax tablets along with several half and quarter tablets, as well as four blocks and four units of crack cocaine. The total estimated value of the drugs is approximately N$618,910.

The arrested individuals are scheduled to appear in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court, while investigations into the case are ongoing. Authorities have urged the public to continue providing information to help combat drug-related crimes.
