NDF to Recruit 1,500 New Members for 2025/2026 Financial Year

NDF Announces Recruitment of Additional 1,500 Members for 2025/2026

The Namibia Defence Force (NDF) has issued a memorandum confirming plans to recruit an additional 1,500 members across all 14 regions during the 2025/2026 financial year.

The memorandum, signed by Executive Director Ms. Annely Haiphene of the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs, was addressed to all Chief Regional Officers. It states that the recruitment will be carried out in accordance with the Defence Act, 2002 (Act No. 1 of 2002), which authorises the appointment of Officer Cadets (OCs) and Other Ranks (ORs) in the Force.

A team from the NDF Recruitment Planning Committee (NDF RPC) will coordinate and oversee the recruitment exercise throughout the country. The memorandum further directs that Constituency Councillors assist all applicants by stamping, recording, and submitting received forms, ensuring that no candidate is turned away.

In a bid to promote inclusivity, 4% of the recruitment slots have been reserved for marginalised communities, whose applications are to be channelled through the Office of the Presidency, attention Executive Director Mr. Mathew Kaholongo, in Windhoek.

Ms. Haiphene expressed gratitude to regional offices for their cooperation and urged them to facilitate a transparent and efficient recruitment process across all regions.
