
A somber mood has gripped the community of Gcamade village following the tragic death of a 36-year-old man, who allegedly died by suicide on Sunday.
According to the Namibian Police, the deceased, identified as Mwengo, a resident of Ngaramateya village, was found hanging from a tree with a wire. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of the morning, and no suicide note was discovered at the scene.
Police investigations are underway to determine the circumstances that may have led to the incident. Mwengo’s body has since been transported to the Rundu State Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Authorities confirmed that his next of kin have been informed, and trauma support services are expected to be offered to the grieving family.
The police urged members of the public to seek help when facing emotional or psychological distress and reminded communities that support systems are available for those in need.
