At the vibrant Sambyu Cultural Festival held on 12 July 2025 in the Kavango East Region, Prime Minister Dr. Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare vowed that the 8th administration remains dedicated to bringing essential services—such as clean water, electricity, shelter, roads, schools, clinics, and telecommunications—to every village across the country.
Addressing festival attendees, Dr. Ngurare emphasized the government’s responsibility to ensure development reaches even the most remote communities, stressing that infrastructure and access to services are fundamental rights, not privileges.

He further urged traditional leaders to take pride in their rich heritage and to be champions of indigenous knowledge, peacebuilding, education, and environmental protection. According to the Prime Minister, these leaders are vital in maintaining cultural identity and fostering unity.
The event drew various dignitaries, community members, and cultural groups in a colorful celebration of the VaShambyu people’s customs and traditions.
