Nine Namibian citizens who went missing after crossing into Angola have been found safe and are now back in Namibia. The group, which included cattle owners and herders, had entered Angola last Sunday to follow armed thieves who stole 56 of their cattle.
Three of the people returned earlier this week, and the other six came back today.
The Kavango East Head of Criminal Investigations said the group is now at the Mushangara border post, where they will spend the night. Authorities also confirmed that all 56 cattle were recovered, however two cattle didn’t make it.
Government officials are still helping with the return process. Veterinary workers will give the cattle vaccines before handing them back to their rightful owners.
