Nored announcement

The Northern Regional Electricity Distributor (NORED) has announced a planned power outage that will affect several communities on Sunday, 16 November 2025. The interruption will take place from 07h00 in the morning until 18h00 in the evening.

According to NORED, the outage is necessary to replace rotten poles and carry out essential maintenance work. The isolation point for the works will be the RMU in Extension 14 Traveler Nest mini-sub and overhead line links.

The affected areas include: Old Ongwediva, Efidi Lomulunga, Oshiko, AMTA Fresh Hub, Oshinyadhila No.182, Onelao, Kashimbi Cucashops, Opoto, Ekolanaambo, AGRO Guest House, Oikango, Onheleiwa, Ohambungu, Onamutayi, Ohadiwa, Okadila, Eefa Doukandona and Oidiva villages.

NORED emphasised that all electrical installations must be treated as live during the outage, as electricity may be restored without prior notice. The operator in charge of the maintenance project is Mr. H. Festus.

Residents are advised to take precautionary steps during the planned interruption, such as unplugging electrical appliances, notifying security companies, limiting the opening of fridges and freezers, and preparing ahead for individuals reliant on medical equipment.

The power utility apologised for any inconvenience caused and encouraged customers to contact the 24-hour Call Centre for enquiries at 0800000100 or SMS 81673.
