Namibian striker Peter Shalulile has written his name into South African football history books by equaling the Premier Soccer League (PSL) all-time top scorer record of 129 goals, a milestone he achieved after finding the net against Magesi FC.
The Mamelodi Sundowns forward, who had endured a recent goal drought due to limited playing opportunities under his current coach, finally reached the long-awaited tally, putting him level with Siyabonga Nomvethe’s record. For years, the benchmark was believed to be 123 goals, but PSL officials later clarified that the official tally stands at 129.
After scoring the historic goal, Shalulile lifted his shirt to reveal a message of faith, declaring: “I belong to Jesus.”
Speaking in a post-match interview, the Namibian international expressed gratitude to his team and supporters:
“The team believes in me, and I believe in them. The tough times will pass, and better days will come.”
