Two Congolese men are behind bars after police uncovered a suspected drug deal during a planned operation at the Swakop/Walvis taxi rank in Walvis Bay.
Authorities say the arrests followed days of monitoring after reports emerged of foreign nationals allegedly distributing cannabis in both Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. Undercover officers posed as buyers and managed to intercept the suspects during the transaction.
Roughly 500 grams of skunk cannabis, valued at around N$25,000, were confiscated at the scene. The suspects, aged 35 and 50, are expected to appear before the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 10 November, facing charges related to drug possession and dealing.
