
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic head-on collision near Mariental that claimed the lives of fourteen people.
Among the deceased are eleven members of the Namibia Correctional Service, two members of the Namibian Police Force, and one civilian.
In her message, President Nandi-Ndaitwah extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and colleagues of the victims, noting that the loss leaves a profound void within the Namibian family.

“
My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones and to the men and women of the Namibia Correctional Service and the Namibian Police Force who are mourning their colleagues. No words can truly capture the depth of this loss,” she said.
The President further assured the bereaved families of the nation’s solidarity during this painful time, adding that the fallen officers and civilian will forever be remembered with respect and gratitude for their dedication and service to the country.

She prayed for strength and comfort for the families and eternal rest for the souls of the deceased.
