Protest Poster Released, Calls for Solidarity

WINDHOEK, Namibia – A call to action resonated across social media today as Michael Amushelelo’s Facebook page released the official poster for the “Set him free” protest scheduled for Wednesday, October 11, 2023. This demonstration seeks the release of Juliet Amushelelo‘s husband, Michael Amushelelo, who was arrested on March 21, 2023.

The news of this upcoming protest was initially reported last Monday. The Facebook post on Michael Amushelelo’s page which released today, urged people to gather in numbers to show the importance of solidarity to make this protest successful.

The poster, now widely circulated on social media, provides key details about the event. The protest will commence at 07:30 AM at the Katutura Youth Complex and is set to be  under the theme “Set him free.”

Juliet Amushelelo’s call for justice has resonated not only within Namibia but across the African continent. The comment section of the post receive an outpouring of support from individuals throughout Africa, encouraging Namibians to turn up in large numbers for the protest.
With the October 11th protest date approaching, it remains to be seen how many will heed the call and join the demonstration in Numbers, advocating for the release of Michael Amushelelo.
