Psquare: Peter Okoye Responds to Brother

Psquare

In a heartfelt and direct open letter, Peter Okoye, one half of the famous Nigerian music duo P-SQUARE, has publicly responded to his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rude Boy. The letter, which was shared online, addresses several issues Peter claims have strained their relationship, including Paul’s recent comments in interviews that seem to undermine Peter’s contributions to their success.

In his letter, Peter expressed his frustration with Paul’s repeated claims that he wrote and sang 99% of all P-SQUARE songs, notably discrediting the hit song “EjeaJo,” which Peter wrote. Peter highlighted that their success was not due to the individual efforts of either brother but rather the magic that came from their combined talents.

“One thing you need to understand clearly is that the fans didn’t fall in love with P-SQUARE because of who sang or danced the most. What made us special was the magic that came from our combined effort – us two!” Peter wrote, emphasizing the importance of unity in their duo.
Peter also took the opportunity to remind Paul that neither of them is the most talented artist in the world, and that their success was a blessing from God. He criticized Paul for turning the once-unified group into a “laughingstock” with his actions and comments.
He further expressed his disappointment in Paul’s decision to team up with their older brother, Jude Okoye, to marginalize and humiliate him within the group. Peter accused Paul of constantly disrespecting him, his family, and his talent, and questioned whether either of them had been as successful as solo artists as they were together as P-SQUARE.

In closing, Peter acknowledged that the ongoing feud has hurt their fans, whom he feels have been disappointed and let down by their actions. Despite the tension, Peter expressed a genuine wish for his brother’s success and asked to be allowed to focus on his music in peace.
Peter also hinted at addressing a matter involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) later in the day, asking fans to stay tuned for more information.
The open letter has sparked widespread attention and discussion among fans and the music industry, as the public continues to hope for reconciliation between the talented brothers.
