Rundu Chiefs FC, popularly known as Epangero, have officially earned promotion to the Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) after a commanding 3-0 victory over Shooting Stars in their final match of the Namport North East Stream First Division 2024/2025 season.

The win secured them the top spot on the log and capped off a triumphant campaign. Forward Benson was the star of the day, netting a brace, while teammate Tiksa added the third goal to seal the club’s return to top-flight football.

Epangero’s promotion marks a significant milestone after spending eight challenging years in the First Division, following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2017/2018 season.

Their promotion will see them replace Cuca Tops FC, who have been relegated from the elite league after a series of poor performances throughout the season.

Meanwhile, KK United who led the log standings for the majority of the season fell short of promotion and now find themselves in fourth place. Their form drastically declined in the second half of the season, plagued by a string of draws and defeats that cost them a historic opportunity.

Rundu Chiefs’ promotion campaign was bolstered by a busy transfer window, during which they signed over seven players from various clubs to reinforce their squad an investment that has clearly paid off.

The return of Epangero to the Premier League has reignited excitement in the town of Rundu, with supporters eager to rally behind their hometown heroes once again on the national stage.
