A 35-year-old man from Rundu, Kavango East, has died from severe bleeding after being stabbed with a broken bottle during a quarrel, police have confirmed.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night following a dispute between the man and his 31-year-old girlfriend at Etosha Bar in the Sauyemwa location. According to police reports, the argument escalated into violence, leading to the fatal stabbing.
Despite sustaining a serious hand wound, the victim reportedly refused medical assistance and walked from Sauyemwa to his residence in Queenspark. His aunt noticed heavy bleeding and urged him to seek treatment, but he declined. Shortly afterward, he collapsed in a neighbour’s yard after jumping over a fence.
The neighbour, who alerted authorities, said she heard a noise and discovered the injured man lying in her yard. He was rushed to Rundu State Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival due to excessive blood loss.
Police arrested the suspect, who is from Sauyemwa, shortly after the incident. She remains in custody, and a case of murder has been opened as investigations continue.
