Namibia’s cattle industry has set a new milestone after a Simbra bull fetched a record-breaking N$650 000 at the Sim Xtravaganza auction held in Windhoek this week.
The prized animal, named Simbrabul Rumba Kelloggs, was bred by well-known farmer Hardus Breedt, who described the sale as a blessing. “It’s all just grace from above,” Breedt remarked, expressing gratitude after the remarkable achievement.
The powerful bull, celebrated for its excellent genetics and build, had earlier been crowned interbreed champion at major agricultural shows in Grootfontein and Windhoek, further cementing its reputation as one of Namibia’s top breeding animals.
The record-setting purchase was made by Bonnie Nieuwoudt of Bonbenic Simbras, based in the Summerdown area of the Omaheke Region, marking a proud moment for both breeders and the local livestock industry.
