Aranos, Hardap Region – In the early hours of Saturday, a 68-year-old woman bravely fought off a rape attempt when an intruder entered her room. The ordeal occurred at approximately 4:00 AM, according to different sources.
The victim, whose identity is not mentioned, displayed immense courage in the face of danger. According to the local authorities report, the assailant, a 48-year-old man, undressed himself and attempted to rape the elderly woman. However, her cries for help, alerting her son who swiftly come to rescue his mother.
The son rushed to her aid and confronted the intruder. He managed to subdue and confine the suspect until law enforcement officers arrived at the scene. They arrested the 48-year-old suspect and took him into custody.
The suspect is currently detained and will face a court hearing on Monday, where he will be charged with attempted rape and other relevant offenses.
