Top 10 Most Followed Football Clubs in Africa

African football’s digital landscape is increasingly shaping how clubs are valued, with fanbase size and online engagement now key indicators of influence across the continent.
Leading the pack are Egyptian giants Al Ahly, who dominate the rankings with an estimated 59 million followers across digital platforms. Their consistent success and global appeal have helped them build one of the largest fanbases in world football.

Zamalek Sport Club follow in second place with around 17 million fans, maintaining a strong presence both locally and internationally.

Tanzania has emerged as a growing force in digital football support, with Simba SC attracting approximately 13.3 million followers, while Young Africans also feature strongly with around 6 million.

Moroccan clubs Raja Casablanca and Wydad AC continue to showcase their massive support bases, recording about 12.1 million and 5.7 million followers respectively.
South Africa is well represented in the top ten, with Kaizer Chiefs ranking fifth on roughly 10 million followers. Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns also make the list, with around 6.1 million and 6 million fans respectively.

Rounding off the rankings is Pyramids FC from Egypt, with an estimated 5 million followers, highlighting their rapid rise in African football’s digital space.
The data reflects how modern football clubs are expanding their influence beyond the pitch, using digital platforms to grow global audiences and strengthen their brand presence.
