SWAPO Party and Leaders Speak Out on the Tragic Death of 5-Year-Old Ingrid Maasdorp – The Updated World

The SWAPO Party has strongly condemned the shocking and heartbreaking killing of five-year-old Ingrid Haylee Maasdorp, who was found murdered in Okahandja in March. The incident has sparked national outrage and calls for swift justice.

Speaking during SWAPO’s 65th anniversary celebration earlier today, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the party, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy.

“We are deeply saddened and angered by the brutal killing and assault of young Ingrid. She was an innocent child who did not deserve such a cruel fate,” she said.

Nandi-Ndaitwah extended her sympathies to Ingrid’s family. “We send our heartfelt condolences to the Maasdorp family. May the Almighty comfort you during this painful time,” she added.

She strongly condemned the violence and demanded action. “We must not allow such evil acts to go unpunished. I call on the police and all law enforcement agencies to work hard and make sure the people responsible are brought to justice.”

The tragic case has gripped the nation, with many citizens joining the call for stronger action against those who commit violent crimes, especially against children.

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare also spoke out during a candlelight vigil held in Ingrid’s memory on Thursday evening at the Government Auditorium. “We must not rest until we find those who did this. The police must work day and night to bring them to justice,” he said.

Ingrid’s father, Shaun Goabab, made an emotional appeal to the government and investigators. He urged them to act quickly on the DNA and fingerprint evidence found on her body. “We need answers. My daughter deserves justice,” he said.

The vigil was attended by friends, family, and community members who lit candles and prayed for justice and healing. Emotions ran high as many in the crowd struggled to hold back tears.

The police have not yet made any arrests, but investigations are ongoing. Authorities have promised to keep the public updated as the case develops.

Community leaders, government officials, and ordinary citizens are united in one message: justice must be served.
