The FIFA-imposed transfer ban on Namibia’s Orlando Pirates Football Club has been lifted after the club settled outstanding payments owed to former player Aaron Yaw Ladakpa. As a result, the club can now register new players both locally and internationally.
The ban was initially imposed on November 14, 2024, after Orlando Pirates wrongfully terminated Ladakpa’s contract without fulfilling financial obligations. Following a complaint filed by the player, FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber ruled in his favor, leading to the club’s restriction.
At the time of the ban, Orlando Pirates were competing in the Debmarine Namibia Premiership. However, they were later relegated to the Southern Stream First Division at the end of the 2023/24 season.
By resolving the dispute and complying with FIFA’s ruling, the club has now regained the ability to strengthen its squad for future competitions.
