
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the brutal killing of 16-year-old Antonio Angelo Xamseb, a Grade 10 learner at Karibib Junior Secondary School.
Xamseb’s lifeless body was discovered on the morning of 31 May by a security guard along a footpath in Karibib. According to police reports, the teenager had sustained two stab wounds to the back. His mobile phone and shoes were missing at the time of discovery, suggesting a possible robbery.
Following an intensive investigation, Erongo police arrested two suspects 31-year-old Kuje Tjimuine and 22 year old Nekwa Gabriel Hangula on 30 July in Okahandja.
Police spokesperson, Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula, confirmed that the stolen mobile device, a Samsung Galaxy A04E, has been recovered and linked to the suspects.
The duo appeared before the Karibib Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where the case was postponed to 11 September for further police investigation. Both accused remain in custody.
The murder of the young student has sent shockwaves through the Karibib community, prompting calls for increased safety measures and justice for the slain teenager.
Authorities have urged anyone with further information to come forward.
