Violence has escalated dramatically in El-Fasher as the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) seized control of the city, leaving a devastating toll on civilians. Reports indicate that up to 2,000 people may have been killed in the past three days.
Local sources and the Sudanese Coordination of Resistance Committees say that the sick and injured are being executed in hospitals and homes, while streets are littered with bodies. Entire neighborhoods have reportedly been attacked, and civilians are fleeing in large numbers.
The United Nations, World Health Organization, and other humanitarian groups have condemned the atrocities. Hospitals, mosques, and shelters have come under attack, making it nearly impossible for medical personnel to assist the injured. The RSF has also shut down satellite communications, complicating efforts to verify the situation on the ground.
More than 30,000 people have fled the city since the RSF takeover, seeking refuge in surrounding areas. Aid organizations warn that the real death toll may be higher as access to the city remains severely restricted.
Experts warn that the fall of El-Fasher could trigger further violence across Darfur, putting more civilians at risk. Humanitarian agencies are calling for immediate protection measures and urgent assistance for displaced residents.
The situation remains highly volatile, and authorities continue to urge those affected to seek safety while aid agencies attempt to deliver emergency relief.
