Vinicius Jr. Becomes Majority Owner of Portuguese Club

Real Madrid’s star forward, Vinicius Jr., has expanded his portfolio beyond football by securing a controlling stake in FC Alverca, a club competing in Portugal’s second division. Partnering with a group of investors, the Brazilian international has acquired between 70-80% of the club, with the total investment reportedly reaching around €8 million.

FC Alverca, founded in 1939, has a history of competing in Portugal’s top flight but faced financial difficulties that led to its bankruptcy in 2005. Since then, the club has rebuilt itself and recently earned promotion from Liga 3. Currently, they sit in second place in Liga Portugal 2, positioning themselves for a potential return to the Primeira Liga.

This move places Vinicius Jr. among an increasing number of footballers investing in clubs while still actively playing. His Real Madrid teammate, Kylian Mbappé, made a similar move last year by acquiring a stake in French side Caen.

The deal was finalized just as Real Madrid prepares for a crucial Champions League fixture against Manchester City, where Vinicius has played a key role. His involvement with FC Alverca is expected to bring added exposure and financial backing to the club as they push for promotion.
