There are three common types of Dermatitis
- Atopic dermatitis (eczema)
- Contact dermatitis
- Seborrheic dermatitis.
These types of dermatitis have a slight variation in symptoms and appear from different parts of the body or from person to person.
Atopic dermatitis – Mostly affects children. These are the reds and itchy rashes, most of the time they appear when the skin flexes, inside the elbows, behind the knees, and in front of the neck. They normally pass the fluid if they are scratched. It may disappear and strongly come back again.
Dry skin may be the major cause of these sicknesses, immune system dysfunction, bacteria on the skin, and environmental conditions.
Contact dermatitis – This type of dermatitis may be painful, itchy, and appear to be like a burn or red and also develop blisters.
These are rashes that appear on your skin due to contact you made with some substances, poison substances, cosmetics, and also due to allergic reactions.
Seborrheic dermatitis – This type of dermatitis may cause scaly patches, red skin, and stubborn dandruff. Mostly it appears in the oily area of the body, like the face, upper chest, and back. It may last longer with the period of improvement and flare-ups. To young children, this condition may be called Cradle cap.
This type of dermatitis may be caused by yeast (fungus) that is in the oil secretion on the skin.
