In the early hours of today, a tragic incident unfolded in Okaku KaNangula village within the Okatana Constituency, where 38-year-old Smith Arista Julandi reportedly died by suicide from a gunshot wound.
Law enforcement officials have launched a comprehensive investigation into the events leading to Ms. Julandi’s death. According to the police report, the incident occurred at her home while she was in the company of her sister and boyfriend. Ms. Julandi was seated on a fridge when she allegedly asked her sister to retrieve a pistol from a security guard at the gate. She then, in the presence of both individuals, reportedly used the firearm to end her life.
The police report further notes that while seated, Ms. Julandi expressed profound emotional distress regarding her father’s passing. The firearm believed to have been used in the suicide was recovered at the scene.
