Worker’s minimum wage to increase by 2025

Utoni Nujoma

On Thursday morning, Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation, Utoni Nujoma, revealed that the minimum wage for Namibian workers, excluding those in domestic and agricultural sectors, will be raised to N$18.00 per hour, effective from 1 January 2025.

The adjustment will affect workers currently earning less than this rate, bringing them up to the new minimum.
In his June submission to the Cabinet, which was subsequently endorsed, Nujoma also outlined a gradual wage increase for domestic and agricultural workers over the next three years.
For domestic workers, the minimum wage will rise in stages, starting at N$12.00 per hour in 2025, increasing to N$15.00 in 2026, and reaching N$18.00 by 2027.
Similarly, agricultural workers will see their wages grow to N$10.00 per hour in 2025, N$14.00 in 2026, and finally reaching N$18.00 by 2027.
