Young African FC-Namibian Correctional Services FC Deal Collapses as Funds Disappear with Mario Ngarizemo

By Kav Sport Magazine

The anticipated acquisition of Young Africans Football Club (YAFC) by Namibian Correctional Services Football Club (NCSFC) has officially collapsed, leaving thousands of dollars unaccounted for as Mr. Mario Ngarizemo walks away with a significant sum.

Tensions between the two clubs escalated immediately after the Namibia Football Association (NFA) announced the suspension of NCSFC and two of its senior officials from all NFA-sanctioned activities. The suspension was due to violations of Article 13(2)(f) of the NFA regulations.

Following this decision, the leadership of NCSFC made a final attempt to negotiate with Mr. Ngarizemo regarding the full takeover of the club and the settlement of their outstanding balance. However, during the discussion, Mr. Ngarizemo informed NCSFC management that there would be no continuation of previous negotiations. He cited a breach of agreement, as NCSFC had failed to pay the remaining balance within two months of the initial payment. Consequently, he declared that if NCSFC still wanted to acquire YAFC, they would have to do so at the current market price of N$2.1 million, rather than the initially agreed N$1.3 million.

This abrupt change in conditions enraged the Namibian Correctional Services leadership, prompting them to swiftly withdraw all their resources from Ngarizemo’s club. These included technical staff, players, vehicles, and food supplies. In response, NCSFC management denied ever agreeing to the new payment terms, stating that Mr. Ngarizemo had only requested a portion of the funds upfront due to an urgent financial need. They also clarified that the full payment was contingent on the NFA’s approval of their application to change the club’s name and status. Unfortunately, the NFA rejected their proposal, citing improper timing for such a transition and advising them to reapply at the end of the season.

As of now, it is rumored that Mr. Mario Ngarizemo has walked away with an estimated N$405,000 from NCSFC, in addition to the N$60,000 earned from MTC Maris Cup bonuses due to the club’s progress—achieved with the assistance of NCSFC resources.

Meanwhile, Young Africans Football Club has returned to Gobabis from Mariental, where it had temporarily relocated. Mr. Ngarizemo is back in business, actively recruiting and signing new players to reinforce his squad. Meanwhile, correctional officers who had been playing for the club have been ordered to resume their regular duties, with some permitted to join other Premier League teams. The top leadership of NCSFC is now evaluating their next steps as they recover from the failed transaction.
