The Rundu Town Council has announced the commencement of emergency infrastructure works in Tutungeni Phase A aimed at repairing erosion damages and improving roads and drainage systems in the area.
According to a public notice issued by the council, the project will focus on the repair of erosion-damaged sections, upgrading existing gravel roads into low volume seal (tarred) roads, and the construction of storm water drainage facilities.
The council stated that the project forms part of an emergency intervention intended to address critical infrastructure challenges affecting residents and road users in Tutungeni.
Construction activities are scheduled to begin in May 2026 and are expected to be completed within 12 months, with the anticipated completion date set for May 2027.
Residents and motorists have been urged to cooperate with contractors and consulting engineers during the construction period to ensure the smooth and timely execution of the works.
