Germany Open World Cup Campaign with 7–1 Rout Over Curaçao in Group E Opener

Germany made a powerful statement in their opening match of Group E at the FIFA World Cup, dismantling Curaçao 7–1 in a dominant and clinical performance that immediately sets the tone for their tournament ambitions.
The match began at high intensity, with Germany striking early through Felix Nmecha after just six minutes, assisted by Florian Wirtz. Curaçao responded briefly and shocked the favourites in the 21st minute when Livano Comenencia equalised, momentarily raising hopes of an upset.
However, Germany quickly reasserted control. Nico Schlotterbeck restored the lead in the 38th minute before Kai Havertz extended the advantage in first-half stoppage time (45+5’), giving Germany a commanding 3–1 lead at the break.
The second half turned into a showcase of attacking depth and precision. Jamal Musiala added a quick fourth immediately after the restart (47’), assisted by Joshua Kimmich. From there, Germany’s substitutions further increased the tempo, with Deniz Undav heavily involved in the build-up play.
Late goals from Nathaniel Brown’s attacking contribution and a second strike from Undav pushed the score to 6–1, before Havertz completed his brace in the 88th minute to seal a comprehensive 7–1 victory.
Despite flashes from players like Tahith Chong and Curaçao’s early equaliser, Germany’s superior structure, pressing intensity, and attacking quality proved overwhelming throughout the Group E opener.
With this result, Germany start their World Cup campaign in emphatic fashion, sending a clear message to the rest of the group.
