More than 47 public enterprises from across Namibia are expected to take part in the 2026 Public Enterprises Games, scheduled to take place in Rundu from 2 to 4 July.

The announcement was made during a media briefing held at Kavango River Lodge in Rundu, where Public Enterprises’s Forum CEO Kenneth Matomola highlighted the broader purpose of the event beyond sporting competition.

He said the games are intended to strengthen teamwork, promote collaboration, and create opportunities for networking and learning among employees from various public enterprises.

“This event is not only about competition on the field. It is about building relationships, sharing knowledge, and learning from one another. You may have strong individual skills, but without effective teamwork, it becomes difficult to achieve meaningful success,” Matomola said.

The 2026 edition of the games is expected to attract more than 4,000 participants. A total of eight sporting codes will be contested, including football, netball, volleyball, athletics, and other disciplines.

Organisers have confirmed that entry to the stadium will be free of charge. However, spectators are encouraged to arrive early, as the venue has a limited capacity of approximately 5,000 people.

In addition, essential services such as on-site banking services will be available to support attendees. More than 21 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are also expected to participate as exhibitors at the venue, offering a range of food, merchandise, and other services to visitors.
