Correctional 11 FC and Kunene Nampol FC Barred from First Division Promotion Playoffs

The lineup for the 2026 North West Stream First Division (NWSFD) promotion playoffs has been reshaped after two regional champions were ruled ineligible to participate due to a breach of the Namibia Football Association (NFA) ownership regulations.
Correctional 11 FC, champions of the Otjozondjupa Regional Second Division, and Kunene Nampol FC, winners of the Kunene Regional Second Division, have both been disqualified from the promotional playoffs scheduled for 18–19 July 2026.
The decision follows a determination that both clubs contravened Article 20.6 of the NFA Constitution, as well as Clause 2.4.1 of an NFA memorandum issued on 8 October 2025. The regulations prohibit any individual or legal entity, including holding companies or subsidiaries, from owning or exercising control over more than one football club where the integrity of a competition could be compromised.
According to the ruling, both Correctional 11 FC and Kunene Nampol FC are owned by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, placing them in violation of the NFA’s single-club ownership rule.
As a result, Okarindi Komutati FC has officially been awarded Kunene’s place in the promotion playoffs. Meanwhile, the Otjozondjupa vacancy is expected to be filled by either Spoilers FC or Okakarara VTC FC, with the runner-up position still to be confirmed.
This year’s promotion playoffs will determine the two clubs that earn promotion, with only two places available. The third position in the North West Stream First Division has already been allocated to Life Fighters FC following the club’s relegation from the Namibia Premier Football League.
Confirmed and Potential Promotion Playoff Participants:
Okamwandi United FC – Oshana Regional champions
Okarindi Komutati FC – Qualified from the Kunene Region
Whoever will finish second will represent the Otjozondjupa Region, the league will finish this weekend.
