Affirmative Repositioning (AR) leader Job Amupanda has revealed that he recently underwent a successful medical operation in Johannesburg, South Africa, to treat a kidney-related condition. The procedure, he explained, required advanced technology and techniques not yet available in Namibia, a matter he emphasized should be addressed in the future.
In a detailed update shared on social media, Amupanda expressed gratitude to his medical team, particularly his urologist, Dr. Johnson, who accompanied him to South Africa and played a key role in his treatment and recovery. He also acknowledged Dr. Conradie and the multidisciplinary team overseeing his post-surgery care, noting that his pain is subsiding and his body is steadily healing.
Amupanda further thanked his wife, Taimi, and his mother for being by his side throughout the recovery process. He stated that once cleared to travel, he will return to Namibia to continue his recovery under a strict medical program.
Due to the recovery plan, Amupanda said he would temporarily reduce his public engagements. However, he reassured supporters that operations within the AR movement remain on track. “The young men and women with talent and energy in parliament are already briefed on the way forward during my period of absence,” he said, commending Activist Onemus Iyambo, who manages the AR Activist-in-Chief’s office, for his leadership in his absence.
The AR leader concluded his message by thanking Namibians for their support and reaffirming his commitment to return stronger once his recovery is complete.
