Job Amupanda’s Social Media Post Sparks Mixed Reactions Amidst Upcoming 2024

Job Amupanda

Job Amupanda, the former Windhoek City Mayor and a prominent figure in Namibian politics, recently took to social media to share a photo of himself shaking hands with Dr. Hage G. Geingob, the current President of Namibia and a member of the SWAPO party. The caption of his post conveyed a message of respect for the elders and hinted at his upcoming participation in the 2024 elections. This social media post triggered various reactions from his followers, with some expressing support and others raising questions about his political path.

The post read:
“Dear Namibians 🇳🇦  It is important INDEED to make the ELDERS smile, ESPECIALLY when you are TAKING OVER from them. We had a chilled and relaxed time with GROOTMAN Dr Hage G. Geingob yesterday! 🙌🏿”

We took few comments for some of his followers who react to his post.
One user commented:
“If you are young and find yourself following Job Amupanda, you are on the wrong path seriously.”
Another user expressed:
“Especially when taking over from them, this statement has assurance.”
Job Amupanda’s announcement earlier this year that he intends to participate in the 2024 elections adds context to his social media post. It indicates his determination to make a significant impact in Namibian politics and possibly ascend to a higher leadership position.
In addition to his political aspirations, Job Amupanda has been actively involved in addressing issues within the Namibian government. Notably, he has been vocal in his criticism of Minister of Education Kandji Murangi, who allegedly owes the Development Bank of Namibia a substantial sum of 4 million Namibian dollars that remains unpaid. Amupanda’s efforts to hold government officials accountable have garnered attention and raised questions about transparency and accountability in Namibia’s public sector.
