“Man Will Always Be Man” – Kandorozu to Ballotti After Racial Remark in Parliament

NUDO Member of Parliament Vetaruhe Kandorozu and Deputy Minister of Education, Sport, Youth and Culture Dino Ballotti were recently seen smiling and shaking hands following a controversy in the National Assembly where Kandorozu directed racial remarks at Ballotti.
The incident attracted public attention after Kandorozu attacked Ballotti during a parliamentary debate, telling the deputy minister to return to Italy and questioning his Namibian identity. Kandorozu also said Ballotti does not look like a Namibian and that he could not respect them.
Despite the earlier confrontation, the two politicians later appeared together in a photograph shared on social media, where they were seen greeting each other warmly.
In a post shared on Wednesday, Kandorozu wrote: “Man will always be Man. Past behind and we move forward. Next event is at coffee shop enjoying ourselves. See you at the Nedbank Namibian Newspaper Cup Hon. Dino Ballotti.”
The image accompanying the post shows the two leaders smiling and shaking hands, suggesting the matter has since cooled down.
Last week, Ballotti spoke on Fresh FM about the issue but avoided making negative remarks about the incident. He instead emphasised his background, saying that although his father is Italian, his mother is Namibian and he was born and raised in Namibia. He added that Namibia is the only country he has ever known.
