The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially communicated to all its member associations that 30 June will serve as the deadline for clubs to complete their licensing process in preparation for the upcoming CAF interclub competitions.

According to the directive, only clubs that successfully meet the required licensing standards will be eligible to participate in next season’s CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

CAF outlined that clubs must comply with several key criteria before being granted approval. These include sporting standards, infrastructure requirements, administrative structures, legal compliance, and financial stability. The governing body emphasized that these areas are essential in ensuring professionalism, transparency, and proper organization within African club football.

In addition to club licensing, CAF also confirmed strict coaching qualification rules. All head coaches and assistant coaches participating in the competitions must hold at least a CAF A License or a CAF Pro License, issued by a recognized football association. The requirement is aimed at raising coaching standards across the continent and ensuring technical consistency at the highest level of African club football.

The announcement is expected to prompt clubs across Africa to accelerate their compliance processes as the deadline approaches, with many teams needing to finalize documentation and staff qualifications before the cutoff date.
