Bulgarian Coach Yordan Stoykov Eyes African Stars FC Job

UEFA Pro licensed Bulgarian coach Yordan Stoykov has reportedly applied for the head coach position at African Stars FC following the club’s recent decision to part ways with coach Agnus Elemu.
African Stars announced the vacant coaching position after the club’s exit from the Top 8 competition, despite another strong domestic campaign. The Windhoek-based giants remain one of the most successful clubs in Namibian football and are the defending Namibia Premier Football League champions after winning the title four consecutive times.
Known for demanding success every season, African Stars are expected to appoint a coach capable of maintaining the club’s winning culture and competing for trophies on all fronts.
Stoykov brings vast international experience to the table, having coached in seven countries and managed 16 different teams during a coaching career spanning nearly four decades since 1983. His coaching journey includes clubs and national teams in Bulgaria, Libya, Tanzania, China, Maldives, Brunei and Ethiopia.
Among the notable teams on his CV are Shanghai Shenhua, Maldives national team, New Radiant SC, DPMM FC and EEPCO FC.
The former Bulgarian international defender also enjoyed success during his playing days with Lokomotiv Sofia, where he won the Bulgarian league title and Bulgarian Cup.
During his coaching career, Stoykov reportedly won trophies with Tanzanian side Malindi FC and helped New Radiant SC reach the semi-finals of the AFC Cup in 2005 one of the club’s biggest continental achievements.
African Stars supporters will now wait to see whether the experienced European tactician becomes the man chosen to continue the club’s dominance in Namibian football.
