Life Fighters FC become the third club Withdraws from NFA Cup

Life Fighters FC has officially withdrawn from the upcoming NFA Cup, citing financial difficulties and concerns over the late scheduling of the competition.
In a letter addressed to the Namibia Football Association (NFA) on 7 May 2026, the club’s chairman, Moses Kangumba, confirmed that the Otjiwarongo-based side would not be able to take part in the tournament under the current circumstances.
According to the club, one of the main concerns was that the NFA Cup had not formed part of the approved football calendar for the season. Management stated that following the conclusion of the league campaign, players and members of the technical team had already been officially released in line with contractual agreements.
The club further explained that reassembling the squad and arranging logistics at short notice would place a major financial burden on the team, with estimated costs reportedly exceeding NAD 330,000.
Life Fighters FC becomes the third club to withdraw from the competition, following similar decisions by Bucks Buccaneers and Tiger FC, both of whom also reportedly cited financial constraints. The growing number of withdrawals has sparked concerns within local football circles about the affordability and timing of the competition for clubs already dealing with limited financial resources. Despite pulling out of the tournament, Life Fighters FC stressed that the decision was made in the interest of responsible financial management and good governance.
The club also reaffirmed its commitment to participating in future competitions organised by the Namibia Football Association, provided there is adequate planning and communication in advance. In its correspondence to the football association, the club wished the organisers success with the administration of the competition while maintaining that participation this year was not financially viable.
