Teachers Reminded of Their Role in Maintaining Fair School Admissions

Teachers across the country have been reminded to strictly uphold ethical standards and admission procedures as schools prepare for the new academic year, amid growing concerns over irregular learner placements.
Education authorities have cautioned that teachers play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of learner admissions and must not engage in, or tolerate, practices that undermine official guidelines. These include accepting learners outside approved processes, manipulating admission lists, or responding to pressure from parents and community members.
The Ministry emphasized that teachers, particularly those involved in school administration and admission committees, are expected to act professionally and transparently, ensuring that all learner placements are conducted fairly and in line with national education policies.
Officials noted that any teacher found facilitating illegal admissions or bypassing established procedures could face disciplinary action, as such conduct compromises equal access to education and creates overcrowding in schools.
Teachers were further urged to guide parents correctly by referring them to the appropriate regional offices or school authorities when placement challenges arise, rather than attempting to resolve matters informally.
The Ministry reiterated that maintaining order and fairness in learner admissions is a collective responsibility, but teachers remain on the front line in enforcing compliance at school level as the academic year begins.
