Clubs to Earn $5,000 Per Day for Each Player Released for the World Cup

Clubs around the world are set to benefit from a major financial boost under the latest FIFA Benefits Programme ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to the update, clubs with players selected for the tournament will receive $5,000 per day per player, starting from June 1, 2026.
The compensation is designed to reward clubs for releasing players for international duty at football’s biggest competition, while also strengthening the link between club and international football.
In Africa, early reports indicate that Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundown are among the clubs sending the highest number of players to the tournament, with 8 players each selected for national team duty. Under this program will each of these two club earn $40000 per day until their last match in the tournament.
This places both clubs at the top of the list in terms of player contribution in Africa, meaning they are expected to receive substantial compensation under the programme.
On top of that Clubs will receive $𝟐,𝟑𝟔𝟎 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 for players who took part in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. A reward system recognizing clubs for their contribution on the road to the 2026 World Cup.
The development represents a significant financial incentive for clubs worldwide, especially those heavily represented at the World Cup, as they directly benefit from their players’ participation on football’s biggest stage.
