Cameroon Beat Malawi to Win First Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Title

Cameroon have made history by winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the first time after defeating Malawi 3-0 in the 2026 final in Rabat, Morocco, on Sunday.
Marie Ngah Manga scored twice, while Naomi Ndjoah Eto added the other goal as Cameroon took a commanding 3-0 lead before half-time.
Ngah opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Eto doubled the advantage nine minutes later. Ngah then completed her brace in first-half stoppage time to put the final beyond Malawi.

The Indomitable Lionesses controlled the second half and kept Malawi’s attacking threat, including the Chawinga sisters, under control to secure a historic victory.
The triumph ends Cameroon’s long wait for the continental title. They had previously lost three WAFCON finals, in 2004, 2014 and 2016, all against Nigeria.
For Malawi, the final marked their first-ever appearance in the WAFCON final after a remarkable debut campaign.

Cameroon’s victory makes them the fourth nation to win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, joining Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.
