Namibian U15 International Tiago Schmidt Joins South Africa’s Joburg City
Namibian U15 international Tiago Schmidt is set to continue his football development in South Africa after joining Joburg City from DS Football Academy.
The young player will compete in the Gauteng Development League, giving him the opportunity to gain experience in a new and competitive environment.
DSFA said the move is part of the academy’s development pathway, which focuses on preparing young players for higher levels of football.
“This is what development is all about. Develop, expose, challenge and prepare players for the next level,” DSFA said.
The academy added that it is proud of Schmidt’s progress from its training programme to the Namibia U15 national team and now to an opportunity outside the country.
“His journey is a reminder that development is not about the immediate result, it is about preparing players for the future,” DSFA said.
DSFA wished Schmidt well as he begins his new chapter with Joburg City and pledged its continued support throughout his development.
