Prime Minister Dr. Elijah Ngurare has announced that he will visit the Rundu Urban Constituency in the Kavango East Region on Friday, 19 September 2025, to assess government projects and engage with local stakeholders.
The visit comes at a time when residents of Rundu are voicing growing frustrations over what they describe as poor service delivery in the town. Among the most pressing concerns is the situation at Ndama East, where a school accommodating over 500 learners has been labeled illegal by the Ministry of Education. Parents and community members argue that the government must intervene urgently, stressing that the children have no alternative school to attend.
In a statement shared on his official page, Dr. Ngurare said the purpose of his visit is to evaluate progress on key development priorities outlined in the SWAPO Party Election Manifesto Implementation Plan. These include education facilities, water infrastructure, roads, clinics, and other essential services.
“During our visit, we will engage in meetings with the Regional Governor, SWAPO Party regional and district leadership, traditional leaders, and other relevant stakeholders,” he noted, adding that senior officials from various ministries will accompany him.
Residents are expected to use the Prime Minister’s visit as an opportunity to raise their concerns directly with government representatives, particularly around education and the delivery of basic services.
