Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare was left disappointed during his visit to the Mururani Checkpoint this week after finding the sanitation project still incomplete.
This was the second time in just over a week that he went to the site and found no workers present and no progress made. Standing among the half-built walls, the Prime Minister openly criticized the contractor for failing to deliver.
“We cannot continue giving projects to contractors who do not take their work seriously. They must be held accountable,” he said, pointing out that even the little work done so far was of poor quality.

The Mururani project is part of a government plan to build proper sanitation facilities at key checkpoints such as Welda, Divundu, Kongola, and Oshivelo. These facilities are meant to serve both officers and travelers, while also creating jobs for local youth who would maintain them.

For now, the Mururani site remains incomplete, with promises of improved services still far from reality.
