The Langer Heinrich Uranium Mine today handed over two new ambulances to the Ministry of Health and Social Services, boosting emergency healthcare services at the Henties Bay Clinic.
The donation is part of the company’s continued investment in healthcare support across the Erongo Region. With this latest contribution, the mine has now donated a total of six ambulances two in Omaruru, two in Swakopmund, and two in Henties Bay.
The handover ceremony was marked by a jubilee march through the town, led by the Namibian National Youth Service band, and was welcomed with a traditional dance performance. Erongo Governor Nathalia /Goagoses received the ambulances on behalf of the regional health authorities, applauding the mine for addressing the critical shortage of emergency vehicles.
“These ambulances will make a real difference in saving lives by ensuring timely medical response for residents of Henties Bay and surrounding areas,” /Goagoses said.
The Ministry of Health has long faced challenges in ensuring adequate ambulance services in rural and coastal towns, with patients often experiencing delays in emergency transport. The new vehicles are expected to help bridge this gap and improve access to urgent care.
Langer Heinrich’s donation underscores the role of public-private partnerships in strengthening Namibia’s healthcare system, particularly in underserved communities.
