Katima Mulilo to Host Northeast First Division Promotion Play-offs as NFA Confirms 2026 Schedule

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has confirmed the venues and dates for the 2026 First Division Promotion Play-offs, with Katima Mulilo set to host the Northeast stream as regional champions battle for promotion to the country’s second-tier leagues.
In an official circular dated 30 June 2026 and signed by Acting General Secretary Mabos Vries, the NFA announced that the promotion play-offs will be held across three regional streams during July.
The Northeast First Division Promotion Play-offs will take place in Katima Mulilo, Zambezi Region, on 11 and 12 July. Teams from Zambezi, Kavango East, Kavango West, Oshikoto and Ohangwena will compete for a place in the First Division.
Qualified teams for NorthEast First Division:
Kavango West – Young Western Fighters FC
Kavango East – Rundu Rangers FC
Oshikoto – Gerros Uri-khob FA
Ohangwena – Members XI FC
Zambezi – Bush Bucks FC
The Northwest stream will be staged in Outjo, Kunene Region, on 18 and 19 July, featuring champions from Omusati, Oshana, Kunene and Otjozondjupa.
The Southern Stream will conclude the promotion play-offs in Karibib, Erongo Region, on 25 and 26 July. Clubs representing Erongo, Khomas, Omaheke, Hardap and //Karas will compete for promotion.
The NFA said the confirmation follows an earlier directive issued on 9 June requesting regional member associations to submit their final league standings. The association also thanked regional chairpersons for ensuring the information was submitted on time, allowing preparations for the promotion play-offs to proceed.
According to the NFA, details regarding the official draw, competition rules and logistical arrangements will be communicated to participating clubs and regional secretariats in due course.
Regional associations have also been instructed to share the information with all qualifying clubs to allow sufficient time for travel planning and final preparations ahead of the decisive promotion matches.
